Coach Registration

All coaches, assistant coaches, managers, and anyone working with players must be sure the following is complete:

  1. Safesport Training
  2. Intro to Safety – Covers Concussion Certification and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification
  3. Risk Status (Background check)

If you are only registering as a coach, and not with registering a player, you will need to use the button below to register.  Click on Login (or Register if you do not have an account with us), located towards the top of the page.  It should ask you if you want to register a player or yourself as a coach.  If it does not give you the option, click on profile picture on the top right.   This will bring you to the Home Page, then choose Volunteer on the menu.

If you are registering a player as well, you can proceed with player registration, and in the process it will ask you about coach registration.

Instructions for new coaches:

To complete the coach registration requirements as a new coach, you fill out the application using one of the above ways to log in.  Then you must complete the requirements at the My Roles & Certificates page.  If you are not directed to this page, click on Volunteers on the left menu and then you will see it.  Click on the box for the requirement and then the Renew & Update button.  Instructions on how to complete the requirement will then pop up.  Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion will be under one course (Intro to Safety).  You do not need to complete it twice.  This will automatically update and upload to your coach accounts.  This screen will also let you know if there are any issues to address to clear as a coach.  Coaching License is not required for recreational coaches.

If you registered February 1, 2022 or later, you you will not need to complete the requirements for the spring season.  You will still need to register as a coach in Sports Connect, but your certificates and RMA will already be approved.  Any coach that registered prior will have to complete all the requirements again.

All players register in the year they were born in.

For the fall season, the player must turn five years old on or before December 31, 2023.

Please be sure to keep up to date with the Return to Play Rules and Operations by visiting our Covid-19 page at washingtontimbers.com/club/covid-19.

You must upload a state issued birth certificate or passport when you register for soccer.  Hospital certificates are not accepted.

As long as you submitted a birth certificate recently, you will not need to upload a certificate again.

No, Washington State Youth Soccer (WYS) requires all players to submit a state issued certificate of live birth or current passport in order to be assigned to a team. Hospital certificates are NOT accepted.

Practice times and start dates vary depending on your team. Most teams will begin practicing late March. Most teams practice twice per week.

Spring season games will be on Friday evenings, or during the day on Saturdays. Games start April 14/15, and end June 10th.  No games will be scheduled on Memorial weekend.

Tryouts are not part of the recreational soccer program. Try-outs are held for players age 7 and older wishing to play at an advanced level of competition. These teams are Advanced Competition teams and only play other Advanced Competition teams. All other teams are recreational teams, players are assigned based on last year’s team, team request, and sign-up date.

We encourage all players to register as soon as possible so we can try and honor team and coach requests. There are no guarantees – but returning players who register by the returning player deadline typically are granted their request.  The Fall season returning player registration is June 15th.

Please do not, it causes errors in the data base and makes it difficult for coaches to contact players! Please create their own account so that their information is accurate for parents to be notified directly. If someone is having trouble registering please have them contact Nick Martinez at grassroots@washingtontimbers.com. The public library also has computers for use for free.

Contact Michelle Beard at michelle.beard@washingtontimbers.com if you have more questions.
